Efficient correspondence with SAP FI: An overview

The SAP FI correspondence is an indispensable tool for SAP customers, especially for those who mainly use the FI module and do not use any other SAP modules. What is correspondence in SAP FI?

Important correspondence types in SAP FI

SAP FI correspondence provides various templates that can be adapted as required:

Invoices: Although invoices are usually created using the SAP SD module, there are scenarios where customers forego the SD module and instead create an invoice based on a financial accounting document in SAP FI. Optionally, you can also create e-invoices with GOpus eInvoice and send them from SAP FI.

Payment notifications: These forms inform the customer that a payment has been made. There are different variants, e.g. payment notifications with or without itemized output.

Internal correspondence: This includes, for example, communication between financial accounting and sales to inform about paid invoices.

Bank statements: These can be sent to customers to inform them about the current status of open items.

Open item list: Another practical form that provides an overview of all outstanding claims.

In order to successfully use the internal documents, the desired correspondence types must first be defined in the accounting settings menu under the item Business transactions-> correspondence Detailed information on configuring the individual correspondence types can be found in the documentation for the corresponding print reports.

SAP FI correspondence offers a Variety of useful functionsthat go far beyond pure financial accounting.
