Maintenance for <strong>SAP ERP<\/strong> and the <strong>Business Suite 7<\/strong> and the move to S\/4HANA can now be done with a paid <strong>Extended Maintenance<\/strong> until <strong>2033 <\/strong>The maintenance is actually supposed to expire in 2027. But what does that mean specifically for companies?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Extended maintenance \u2013 opportunity or challenge?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The extended maintenance option for an additional charge gives companies more time to adapt their IT landscapes and prepare for the transition to the <strong>Cloud <\/strong>or on <strong>S\/4HANA <\/strong>SAP hopes that this option will help it to retain its customers for the long term. However, there are some important conditions that need to be taken into account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Important aspects of the new transition option:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Cloud focus:<\/strong> From 2033 onwards, switching from SAP ECC will only be possible to a cloud subscription, no longer as an on-premise solution.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Contract model:<\/strong> Companies must commit to the binding model \u201cSAP ERP, private edition, transition option\u201d.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Cost:<\/strong> As things stand, Extended Maintenance is calculated with a maintenance rate that is two percentage points higher. SAP will provide further information in the first half of the year.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Recommendations for action for companies<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The extended maintenance initially provides companies with more planning security, which according to the <strong>Chairman of the German-speaking SAP User Group (DSAG) Jens Hungershausen<\/strong> is to be welcomed. The measure would accommodate companies and the time should be actively used to rethink system strategies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Do you need help with the changeover?
