E-Invoicing in Tunisia

Tunisia has 2016 the electronic invoicing system of DGI introduced to digitalize tax processes and reduce tax evasion. The platform is operated by the Directorate-General for Taxation (DGI) It is mandatory for large companies and business-to-government (B2G) transactions. Since its launch, the system has been gradually expanded to require more companies to use it. This is intended to increase transparency, reduce administrative burdens, and improve tax compliance.

Timeframe

2016: Introduction of mandatory electronic invoicing for public contracting authorities and large companies.

applicability

The e-invoice primarily covers Business-to-Government (B2G) and Business to Business (B2B) transactions.

format

XML-Format.

Electronic signature

Electronic signatures are not mandatory.

Archiving

E-invoices must 5 years long be archived.
