How e-invoicing works
To Egyptian Accounting System (ETA) To become active, the first step is registration, which involves obtaining a digital certificate. These certificates are crucial because all invoices must be electronically signed before they can be submitted to the Egyptian tax authority. This process not only ensures the authenticity of the documents, but also their legal validity.
Each invoice generated is provided with a unique UUID identifier which enables precise identification and tracking. This identifier serves as an unchangeable digital signature for each transaction. The signing itself is done either via a Hardware Security Module (HSM) or a USB token, which ensures the highest security standards. This protection mechanism ensures that the integrity of the invoice data is maintained throughout the entire transmission process.

Once an invoice has been approved, both sender and recipient are notified immediately. This notification signals that the e-invoice is available in the billing system and can be downloaded. This efficient communication mechanism speeds up the exchange of documents and enables smooth transactions between the parties involved. It is also important to note that products/items must be coded according to the GPC classification of the GS1 standard.
