E-Invoicing in Ireland

Ireland has introduced electronic invoicing in the public sector in accordance with EU Directive 2014/55/EU. Since 18 April 2020, all public bodies have been required to receive and process electronic invoices. The central platform is the PEPPOL network (Pan-European Public Procurement OnLine), which enables the secure exchange of standardized e-invoices. Office of Government Procurement (OGP) acts as the national PEPPOL authority and supports public institutions in implementation. The use of e-invoicing is currently optional for suppliers, but will be facilitated by the provision of PEPPOL-compatible solutions.
