E-Invoicing in Israel

Israel introduced a new e-invoicing system based on a clearance model in 2024. The Israel Tax Authority (ITA)that validates each electronic invoice before it is forwarded to the business partner. The process includes the assignment of a unique Allocation Number, which is required to claim input tax deduction. Transmission takes place via a technical interface (API) that establishes a real-time connection to the ITA.

2024: Introduction of a voluntary e-invoicing phase.

May 2024: All bills over 25,000 NIS

2025: All bills over 20,000 NIS

2026: Extension of the obligation to invoices over NIS 10,000.

June 2026: Extension of the obligation to invoices over 5,000 NIS.

applicability

The e-invoice primarily covers Business-to-Government (B2G) and Business to Business (B2B) transactions.

Electronic signature

Electronic signatures are mandatoryEach invoice must have a unique identification number contain.

Archiving

E-invoices must 7 years be archived.
